Our library is in a street where lots of people walk past it on their way to the beach.
We love books, and love sharing them. A few years ago, a friend gave us an old fridge, we cleaned and painted it and built shelves, and passers-by enjoy browsing. We set it up on the nature strip, but Council said it couldn’t be on public land, so now it’s on private land, built into our front fence. Some people visit by car to drop off lots of books! Children’s books always disappear quickly. We enjoy seeing people stop to have a look, and have met some lovely neighbours when they are browsing.
