Paint Liverpool REaD ‘Miller’ Street Library

88 Shropshire Street, Miller 2168

Our Paint Liverpool REaD Street Library is available for members of the public who access Mission Australia in Miller.

Paint Liverpool REaD is an early literacy initiative which is part of the National ‘Paint the Town REaD’ program. We promote the importance of early literacy activities for children aged 0-5 years. Paint Liverpool REaD currently has book boxes located throughout Liverpool where children and their parents/carers can read books whilst they are waiting in places like doctors surgeries, service centres, Liverpool Hospital etc.. Having a Street Library seemed a natural progression for us so with the help of Mission Australia’s ‘2168’ Communities for Children program we were able to purchase a Street Library and then decorated it in the Paint Liverpool colours along with a picture of our mascot ‘GoGo the Gecko’. GoGo’s message to families is to ‘talk sing read and play with your children every day from birth’.

We are hoping to install more Street Libraries in and around Liverpool very soon.
