Brett and Elizabeth Harvey are both primary school teachers whose love of books and literacy are being passed to their children through daily reading, and now out to the wider community through their Street Library.
Brett and his son have enjoyed borrowing from the street libraries in their neighbourhood. They have been inspired to create their own. The Parramatta Street Library is a beautiful, hand-crafted library made from around 90% repurposed materials. It houses 3 shelves of books and is easily accessible from the footpath and roadside.
Like most Street Libraries, theirs is an eclectic mix of children’s picture story books, junior fiction, adult fiction and a mix of non-fiction titles for all ages.
