Parkes Shire is a shire that encourages Reading from Birth (with all babies born at the Parkes Hospital receiving a book) We have a Reading Bug who visits our shire schools to encourage Paint the Town REaD!!!

My desire to provide a library was an extension of our town library which is only open a few hours a week. We hope to encourage reading in all ages.
