Pluto’s Little Library

51 Charles Street Northcote 3070 Victoria

Lovingly curated daily by its 95-year-old custodian. Feel free to say hi to Mollie if she’s in the garden. She loves a chat (and books)!

Gifted by Nina to her friend Jade (and pup Pluto), this gorgeous library was then donated to Mollie, a retired teacher, lifelong reader and local library volunteer.

Having given up driving at age 94 and three quarters, Mollie looks forward to having books delivered to her door – or front fence, to be more precise! Coming from a family of avid readers, there’s bound to be a constant fresh supply so check it out…

With lots of families in the neighbourhood, she’s hoping to see lots of children’s books to make it a destination library for young readers.

The library was officially launched in May by donors Nina, Jade and Pluto at an afternoon tea hosted by the delighted new library recipient and custodian, Mollie.

Donated by Nina and Jade (and Pluto). Installed by Mollie’s grandson Jerome. Painted by daughter, Victoria. Photos by daughter, Anna. A true community effort.
