Portside Street Library

Wharf Street, Maryborough, Qld, Australia - in front of the Bosd Store museum

The Portside Street Library is a little piece of Maryborough's heritage repurposed as a Street Library. A fun initiative of the Fraser Coast Libraries to encourage everyone to read today and every day.

The Portside Heritage Precinct encourages you to soak up history against a backdrop of glorious colonial architecture and riverside parklands as you explore Maryborough’s original port district. Portside offers an incredible range of heritage experiences with heritage-listed restaurants, cafes and pubs, museums and historical collections, unique links to Mary Poppins, inspiring art and culture at Gatakers Artspace, and beautiful Queens Park – one of Australia’s first botanic gardens. Our Portside Street Library is just another wonderful piece of that heritage encouraging people to read today and every day.
