We read about two street libraries already in our suburb and thought it was a great idea. We re-purposed an old wine rack and painted it with happy colours. Our 4-year old grand-daughter helped paint the post. We invited our neighbours to celebrate the “grand” opening. On a sunny but cool winter’s day in August 2016 we officially opened the library with a champagne toast. We met some neighbours we hadn’t met before and everyone thought it was a great idea. The library was completely rebuilt during the COVID-19 lock down period in 2020.
This is a colourful library in a peaceful public green space away from the hustle and bustle of busy streets.
