The City of Parramatta Council is working with the community to share books through the installation of Street Libraries in our public domain.
The Rainbow Lorikeets painted on the Yates Avenue Street Library, is the beautiful artwork of a local community artist who has captured the Rainbow Lorikeets that he sees in the area, and to create a colour mural for all who visit the Street Library.
The street library works on an honesty system with the motto “Take a book; leave a book”.
Street Libraries increase community activation and invites the community to share the joys of reading and create lasting connections inside their community.
