READING TREE

124-134 Millers Rd, Altona North VIC 3025

This is a great spot to read, swap, exchange or even take books. The idea has appealed to many and we've received a lot of positive feedback about it. So if you're ever at Altona Gate Shopping Centre, head down to the food court and check out the READING TREE near the escalator.

Way before I did a women’s leadership course earlier in 2018, I wanted to spread literacy through the love of books. Being a teacher I always want to see everyone, kids and adults alike, reading and enjoying it as well. Having toyed with the idea for a while I was grateful that Hobsons Bay City Council actually provided me the platform on which I could launch the project at Altona Gate Shopping Centre in Altona. Started in October 2018 is the READING TREE at Altona Gate Shopping Centre where you can browse, read, borrow or even swap books ranging from history, fiction, self help, hobbies, cookery, literature and biographies. So what are we waiting for …………get reading everyone.
