Rosie Readers

304 Hume Street, Centenary Heights, QLD, Australia

We invite the wider community and our Rosemont Cottage friends to take a book, give a book and share a book. Children’s books, that is!

At Rosemont Cottage, we believe that a book is a garden carried in the pocket! We embrace an ecological play-based approach to learning, encouraging sustainability and respect for the environment, as well as a strong sense of connectedness with the community. The children at Rosemont Cottage climb trees, play in the dirt, care for animals, grow vegetables and play in the sunshine.

It’s with great excitement that we launch our sustainable Street Library for children’s books on International Book Giving Day (February 14th, 2021).

Lovingly made by a Rosemont Cottage family, our Street Library utilises discarded and repurposed materials, including: timber, acrylic, paint, a door handle and insulators. Every element has a story. It’s our hope that our Street Library will grow to symbolise a love of children’s books, the importance of sustainability and an appreciation of community.

You will find our gorgeous library inside our fence, permanently perched within our beautiful garden. Alongside children’s books, we hope to occasionally share artwork and treasures from our organic fruit and vegetable gardens. Welcome to Rosie Readers!
