Sandy Village street library

Corner of Station Street and Waltham Street, Sandringham, Vic 3191

Our library is easy to spot with its colorful artwork, done by talented local artists. Grab a book, take a few steps to pick up a coffee and then you're only metres from Sandringham Beach.

This is a community effort. The funds for the materials were crowdfunded. The library was built by the Bayside Men’s Shed and painted by the Sandy Street Art Project. Bayside Council allowed the street library to be installed on council land in the heart of the local shops, close to Sandringham Railway Station. It’s been a great collaboration.
The outcome is a quirky and beautifully made street library, with a magpie, the beach and wattle expertly painted on the back
