Created for all the would be book worms! We hope that this wonderful, new community have a place to share books and love!
Scotty was a book work, book hoarder and Dad of our house!
In December 2018, after building a house, getting married a second time and blending a family of four children, Scotty died unexpectedly.
Scott spent a lifetime dealing with epilepsy that was often not managed well with medications. He also carried a genetic disease, Brash-AT. Along with some more recent heart conditions, all these issues cut his life short.
All that knew Scotty, realised his bravery. He lost his first wife to cancer, caused by the Brasha-AT gene. That was the same year that he found out that Daniel, his youngest son, carried the full-blown form of the illness.
Despite all the mountains that Scott had to climb, he never let a thing bother him. He lived life to the fullest. He worked hard for his family. He played his guitar, he wrote poetry, drew pictures and took photos. Scott loved books! He was also a book hoarder and it drove me crazy!
I hope that in honor of the Dad of our house that we can spread a bit of love about by installing a library in the front yard.
We ask you to share your books but please….. TAKE SOME TOO! I have thousands! We ask you to make bookmarks to share or to share your poems and to please sign the visitor’s book!
I’d also love to add….. I am a plant hoarder. There is a little shelf at the back of the library. I take cuttings! I also take seeds…. Please feel free to swap!
Lastly, we would like to share a message. Even at the end, Scott’s ailments did not affect him. Despite everything that happened, Scott became an organ donor. He saved four lives. We ask you to think about Scott’s story and to create your own. Go to www.donatelife.gov.au or find them on facebook. Follow the links to become an organ donor. #ticktheboxforscott
