Sienna’s Little Library

Richmond Street, Hackney

This little library is in memory of Sienna's love of reading. It contains lots of reader surprises.

Sienna’s little library opened December 2014 at Adelaide Farmers Market, with sister libraries in Piccadilly and Norwood. In 2021 a new one, which is a vintage meat safe that was repurposed into a library, rests on the front fence on Richmond Street, Hackney. This little library is in loving memory of Sienna. It was created by Sienna’s mum, Jewels, to share and promote reading in the community. The location on Richmond Street, Hackney is opposite the Adelaide Caravan Park and down the street is Hackney Kindergarten, Fix Cafe and Twelfthtree Park. Young readers like to take a book from this little library to read at the Park and return it for sharing. This is Sienna’s legacy, to share books in kindness. Next to it sits a Free Little Art Gallery for taking and leaving little art pieces. Books and art connect and engage the community through kindness.
