As a young family, our house was bursting at the seems with childrens ‘stuff’, so I had to make the big decision to downsize my library. As I couldnt part with the books, I neogationed with the family that I would downsize if we could give back to our community and make a library for them as they have been a huge support to us. We collected second hand materials during hard rubbish to collectively make the little library. For the finishing touch, the kids got to show off their painting skills. Its a little rustic, uneven and shabby a bit like us, but it was made with love and a story to tell.
We have loved talking with neighbours who are using the library and some who dont borrow but just open to have a look inside. I have even been spoilt with people adding their own books in, which I get to have a quick read.
Its been an absolute pleasure doing this for our friends and community in Seaford
Our little home made library has books for all book enthusiasts. Rotating genres and an endless stockpile for a great summer read (or winter)
