Established in 2024, the Tempy Little Library was created to allow both locals and travellers alike to be able to access books at any time of the day or night, without having to drive to the closest town (in this case Ouyen, which is 53km north). Aside from adults and children’s books, visitors may also find a dvd or board game to take with them, as well as brochures and postcards depicting the local area. It is worth stopping at the Tempy Little Library just to look at the beautiful artwork, painted by local Ouyen artist, Kevin Jones. Kevin has created some detailed scenes depicting the history of Tempy in a visual format, from the construction of the temporary railway siding, to the school, church and sporting clubs. The local Tempy Primary School children have also added their individual touch to the front of the cabinet. This library is proudly supported by the Speed Lion’s Club and is open to everyone. We hope you love it!
Come and visit the Tempy Little Library! Leave a book, take a book, enjoy a book! Also the keeper of other goodies such as free local brochures and postcards.
