Our street library was donated to our early childhood education and care service by one of our educators. It is made from recycled timber fencing and is lined using old newspaper clippings from the 1950’s. The pressed metal pitched roof and white fretwork trim give it an ‘old world’ look. The families and children regularly stop and exchange books, it’s a wonderful way to promote the love of reading to the children and the wider community.
We are just behind High St, Northcote where there are many cafes and restaurants... so next time you are in the neighbourhood, grab yourself a book at the Annie Dennis library and wander onto High St and enjoy your book with a coffee or snack.
