I love all the street libraries around me, and love checking them for all the little treasures I regularly find. I’m a reader and a book lover, and wanted the joy of sharing my books with the people who come past our place. People regularly stop to pat and chat with our cat; now they can look for a book at the same time.
Our son Peter designed and built our library for us, to fit exactly on top of our fence post. I painted it with the same paints we used on our house. And my husband installed in. So it’s a whole-family project.
You're used to seeing our white cat Asher sitting on our fence post. Now there's something a lot more useful the next fence post over!
