A neighbour gave me an article about Street Libraries over a year ago and I was hooked on the idea. I have always been an avid reader and shared this love of reading with my (now grown-up) children and the hundreds of pupils I’ve had the privilege to teach. It all started with books; I love the heft and smell of them and I believe reading is one of the most important skills we ever acquire. Also, as a confirmed hoarder(!) I thought the Street Library could be a great starting point for reducing some of the many hundreds of books I’ve collected over the decades, sharing my passion in both a positive and enjoyable way.
