In 2019, my birthday wish was for a Street Library. My amazing children all gifted me with their favourite books from their childhood which we would read often, and a letter reminiscing about those memorable times and showing their gratitude for the gift of reading which I shared with them. They were all really excited to be a part of sharing the love of reading with others. The actual construction of the Street Library was a lot more involved than I imagined but thankfully my patient, and handy, husband helped me every step of the way to build my magnificent Street Library. It is a very sturdy construction! My youngest daughter did the decorative paintwork on the roof, and it has blackboard paint on the side where I will write messages for all to share. This Street Library is a labour of love and I hope that lots of the people in our neighbourhood will enjoy sharing this with us.
My Street Library has a wide variety of books from picture books to teen novels to action, war, romance, biographies and many more. It is easy to access for the young and old. Everyone is welcome to enjoy sharing the books.
