After donating boxes and boxes of books to charity, we decided to do a bit of book recycling closer to home but what should be the theme of our Street Library? Well, Wollstonecraft’s was once a Federation gem, filled with beautiful houses but these are fast disappearing to be replaced by soulless high rise. Our Little House of Books echoes Wollstonecraft’s Federation character while it gives old books new homes and new lives.
It was built almost entirely of recycled materials saved from council collection and painted with paint left over from paining our house. Perfect colour match! And it has a solar powered light for nigh time browsing.
