We built our library as a project to inspire us during lockdown (August 2021).
We built it ourselves (using the Street Library Kit) and 11-year-old Ayesha (with a little help from Mum) invested lots of effort and time and love into painting it and bringing it to life. It has an ocean theme to match our seaside location, complete with coral, mermaid scale roof tiles and decorations like shells and star fish!
This is not just a library. It is a beautiful work of art. It is a gathering point for neighbours and sparks fascinating conversations. It is a new source of books for our local kids while libraries and schools are closed. AND it even has a water and treat station for dogs to enjoy while their owners are busy choosing books!
Our library aims to have something for everyone - little kids, older kids, teenagers, adults... and even dogs!
Located at:13 Treetop Glen Thirroul NSW 2515
