An initiative of the Tunbridge Town Hall Committee, the little street library was built, decorated and stocked by or members, with book donations from various members of the community, those visitors who regularly come to our markets or hire our hall. We also acknowledge the help of our Southern Midland Council who provided us with protection in the form of a repurposed bus shelter, so that our readers could browse in all weathers. Our aim is to encourage reading, provide a community resource and bring people together, Our colourful street library is made up of 90% recycled materials .As well as this being a great community library we hope that our many visitors in campervans and caravans will visit us too.
