Our library is pitched on the street with a native garden planted around it and painted on its wooden sides. The Maroubra beach is down the road and visitors to our library are often on their way to a sea swim, towels wrapped around shoulders. What is better than a book, a swim and a sunny day?! We really enjoyed painting our library with banksia and bottle brush flowers and leaves. Our library often comes alive at times of the year with Christmas, Easter or Halloween decorations!
Our street library is full of bookish treasures - children's books we've grown out of, adult books we've read and want to pass on, small toys that find their way into the library for others to take and play with.
