Wurrungwuri Library

2 Thistle Street Ryde

Dedicated to the intrigue of early learners aged 1-7, our street library is focused on ensuring all children have opportunities to develop their literacy skills, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and enjoy the adventures which unravels between the pages.

Our beautiful street library is named Wurrungwuri, a Dharug word meaning “our side of the river”. Decorated with delicately water-coloured Snapper fish (Wulumay), frolicking in the coastal waters (Badu) of the Parramatta river, our library represents our services acknowledgement to the first nations people of the Wallumede area and our commitment to embedding Aboriginal perspectives in our service.
