Wyndy Spot Book Box

5 Juliana Street, West Launceston, Tasmania, Australia 7250

It's a funky spotty tea cup and saucer design and has a herb garden and bench seat beside it with a view across Launceston! It's on the corner of Juliana and Wyndella Sts under a shady tree 🙂

I am keen to foster a connection between the residents in our nearby streets. In this mad world we desperately need the simple gifts of kindness, sharing and creativity. I have made a community herb garden which is being visited by neighbours, and the library box is an extension of this idea. I am passionate about the value of children’s books, and have endeavoured to create a space where parents and children can sit and read, look at the view, and literally smell the roses and sample edible herbs. The street library concept is brilliant on so many levels – we all have books on our shelves that have been read and enjoyed but will most likely not be read again, so just as a recycling idea it’s fabulous. Encouraging lifelong learning and just sharing with neighbours are such positive pursuits! And I get huge enjoyment when I notice passers by stop and read, or stop to collect herbs!
