Yeppoon Information Centre – Get Appy!

Scenic Hwy, Yeppoon QLD 4703

Yeppoon Information Centre is the home of our first Street Library. This is the perfect location for locals and visitors alike. Right near Ross Creek bridge and the main roundabout into town, look out for the bright blue library box, which is branded with our Livingstone Shire Library App information including QR code which takes you straight to the heart of Livingstone Shire Libraries and all the information you need.

Livingstone Shire Council supports the installation and promotion of our two Street Libraries, the other one being at the Farnborough Store nearby to Yeppoon. This Street Library was aimed at promoting our new Library App. The collaborative efforts by Livingstone Shire libraries, Livingstone Shire facilities, the Men’s Shed who built the two Street Libraries, and local professional artist Martin Schlick who meticulously painted the Library App logo, and QR code by hand.
The result is very striking and has gained a lot of interest in the local community. Everyone loves to be able to take a book or donate a book, and the local Yeppoon High School has undertaken a project with their Seniors Action Group to build and install one in the main street of Yeppoon, that they will design, build, paint and maintain in the street to be involved and connect with the local community and Livingstone Shire Council. The Yeppoon Information Centre staff kindly act as stewards for the Street Library which is regularly serviced by Library staff.
