YMCA Holt Street Library started as a Challenge Project that teachers in our centre had. Jarrah Nest which is the Preschool group decided to create a project where not only children and families in our centre can benefit from but the entire community can take part in it.
Jarrah Nest Teachers and Children use recycled materials that were donated by local community, and were inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, We built our Street Library to share the love of literacy with our children, families and community.
YMCA Holt is a library Fan Centre, Our Street Library is, essentially, our community front door library. We want to share with our community our passion for books and reading, come a grab a book and share with us the joy of reading.
