Introducing Carole our Street Librarian of the Month. This beautiful library is located in Woodford NSW surround by the Blue Mountain National Park. Why not stop over before your bush walk? Grab a book and start your trek at the famous Woodford to Glenbrook Track which is ideal for the walking enthusiast.

Two years ago Carole built the Oakura Bookshelf in the Street Libraries workshop and with a bit of help from her neighbours installed it out the front of her house. Carole is a librarian who just doesn’t know when to clock off.

The roof artwork harks back to 1905 when our area was the Oakura Estate. Other illustrations go further back into our history.

Carole’s word of wisdom “It’s exciting to find books added and I have a stash of books waiting. “Take a Book” went on the fence post when I thought people were a bit unsure about it.”

There are a few more street libraries around now – the more the merrier!
