Three years ago, we predicted we would reach 500 registered Street Libraries by the end of 2018. We have managed to almost double our goal to 1000!. Street Library officially began in Sydney at the start of November 2015 and we have been rapidly growing across Australia. With our motto of “Take a Book, Give a Book, Share a Book” residences, councils, schools and childcare centres (just to name a few) have embraced Street Libraries. We promote access to literature and the joy of reading a good book. In striving for a sustainable future by sharing books that would otherwise gather dust on your bookshelf Street Libraries encourage your neighbourhood to connect with each other.
