After establishing a beautifully decorated Street Library along the roadside into Connellan, Pauline was saddened to see her passion project removed in its entirety by an unknown perpetrator soon after its installation.
In a lucky twist Street Library Australia made contact with Pauline in response to her Street Library registration to congratulate her on her initiative. We were similarly saddened to hear the news of its demise. Down but definitely not out, Pauline agreed to accept a donated Street Library and liaised with members of her community to place it in front of the Sturt Desert Pea House – a local B ‘n’ B.
Now concreted into the ground and with the community keeping an eye on things, the Sturt Desert Pea Street Library is approaching six weeks in-situ. We’re incredibly grateful for the tenacity of Pauline and the Connellan community and hopeful that this special Street Library lives long and brings much joy!
