Tim Winton

Acclaimed Australian author

“Anyone who has experienced the liberating power of language and the simple joy of discovering a new book will understand how precious a library is.  Any collection of books, great or small, public or private, is a treasure house, a story vault, a bulwark of civilisation.  I love the idea of Street Libraries.  It’s about ordinary people sharing pleasure, creating space for curiosity and keeping culture alive where it counts, on our streets and in our everyday lives.  I’m very pleased to be the Patron of Street Libraries Australia.” – Tim Winton.

We’re honoured (and delighted) to have acclaimed Australian author Tim Winton as our patron. Tim has published over 25 books for adults and children, and his work has been translated into 28 languages. Tim’s new book, The Shepherd’s Hut, will be published in 2018.
