Woollahra Council recently installed Street Libraries at two of their venues for hire – Rose Bay Cottage and Cooper Park Community Hall. Both of these venues host a number of community groups, playgroups and activities throughout the week, and are very popular for children’s birthday parties on weekends. The libraries were decorated by a local artist, Adam Long, and feature a ‘Book Bunyip’ for Rose Bay and a ‘native garden shed’ for Cooper Park.  Woollahra Library donated books to start them off, which were quickly added to by members of the Cooper Park Community Garden who were keen to share some of their favourite reads. The response so far has been really enthusiastic and Council hopes to add more street libraries to their other community hire venues in the future.
