Henson Street Library was given to me (Jess) as the kit version of The Shed for my 30th birthday. I am an avid reader with a very strong passion for a circular economy and community engagement. You will find my Stree Library on Henson Street in Marrickville, originally named Bulanaming by the traditional owners of the land, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation.

I painted my Street Library’s roof first. I used a green paint I had leftover from a wall I recently painted in my apartment with the hope of it providing me with a calm effect…. apparently, lime doesn’t have that effect. It was fast removed from my wall, but hey, turns out it is perfect for a Street Library!!

I hope Henson Street Library, with its bright and happy colours makes people smile as they pass and hopefully encourages the taking, giving and sharing of books.

You can follow Henson Street Library on Instagram for updates on the books available, reviews & local area titbits at @hensonst.library.
