New product alert! We have a handsome, practical, and very limited new Street Library for sale. Meet the imaginatively titled ‘Limited Edition’ - a Street Library model limited to a one-off run of 16 for those who like to be a little different.

This Street Library measures approximately 56cm internally at its highest point, allowing your library to hold books that are larger in size or making it possible to accommodate a really fine stack (rivaling your TBR pile). The original pitched roof remains for those who like a library with a more traditional look and a storybook feel.

Big love and huge props to the community of Wardel

Big love and huge props to the community of Wardell on the NSW North Coast, who have experienced the full effect of the flooding in Northern New South Wales this year.

They are lucky to have WardellCORE, a community-centred recovery and service hub focused on wellbeing and social care. Their aim is to improve people’s lives beyond the point of disaster recovery and support the community to create a shared vision for the future.

This beautiful little handmade Street Library has been lovingly constructed by volunteer Cheryl with support from the organisation’s handyman, Bob. We hope their initiative and enthusiasm helps to strengthen and unite this community even further.

So many bonus points for the dog leash hook. Superb.

We love seeing how Street Librarians express thems

We love seeing how Street Librarians express themselves through their libraries, and the Little House on the Pine Street in Reservoir, VIC, is particularly striking because it’s an especially clear reflection of individual values.

“We built this library from scratch, and almost all of the materials used were recycled… all we bought were the screws and hinge,” says our Street Librarian.

“My hope for the library is that it will make people smile and remind them of the importance of nature and the biodiversity around us. I volunteer as a wildlife rescuer and with the Friends of Edwardes Lake group in Reservoir. I plan to regularly include flyers in the library about those organisations and how people can get involved in nature, perform pouch checks etc.”

We’re excited to welcome the wonderfully creativ

We’re excited to welcome the wonderfully creative Arty-Farty to our Street Library community. Situated in Townsville, QLD, Arty-Farty is a collaboration between four Townsville artists: Rob Douma, Carly Sheil, Benny Mac and Michael Pope.

“I built the library but didn’t fancy the mental task of handling its exterior design on my own,”’ says contributing artist, Michael.

“I put some feelers out to see if any other artists wanted to jump in and help me pimp the library. We all took a side and the result is four very distinctive styles.”

The library is attached to Townsville’s Murky Waters Studio, creative home to 7 local artists with an exhibition space downstairs that is open to the public on Sundays.

Wouldn’t it be great to see Arty-Farty filled with art books?
