Allen’s Book Box

There are books for all ages

In 2004 my husband Allen was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease at age 54. Allen loved the outdoors, nature, and our native birdlife. He was an avid reader and as his MND rapidly progressed, reading remained an activity he could still do. When he lost the use of his hands our palliative care team sourced an automatic page turner for him, allowing him to read uninterruptedly, and independently, Allen passed away at home here at Hardwicke Bay in 2005. This library is named for him
