Take a drive in the country, stroll the hills and take in the vistas, then visit our Common. Situated at the back of the hall at Royalla Common you will find our street library. A place to meet neighbours, share a book and read under the peaceful and cool serenity of the Elm Grove. You may even see a wombat or echidna if you’re lucky.
Living on the edge of Canberra, it takes time to drive into a library somewhere. I wanted to provide an opportunity for the community to read a variety of books without the hassle of the daily commute. A place where we can share our books both for adults and children. The Royalla Common was the obvious choice, it is a place where we come together for yoga, weddings, parties and all sorts of meetings, so it was the perfect location for our street library. Everyone has easy access and is invited to donate, share, borrow as many books as they like.
