Greta Museum’s Community Street Library

96 High Street Greta, NSW, Australia

With our new Community Street Library everyone now has the opportunity to sit and relax with a book they haven't read, without having to travel far. It is also great for our village's literacy, especially in the way it can help the local community's youth learn to love books and reading.

With no public libraries in Greta, our street library was inspired by the lack of quiet, less active things to do in the historic village. Our library gives everyone a chance to take or share a book to read, without even going inside. While accessible at present only when the museum is open, two days a week, there is hope for greater availability in the future when other locals get on board with the idea.
