Whilst browsing through facebook I stumbled upon an article about little free libraries – the American version of street Libraries and upon which Street Libraries Australia has been based.. I became really excited. This was it – this was exactly what our community needed to help to get people, especially young people, reading.I immediately set the wheels in motion to set up a little free library our community can be proud of.The wonderful Singleton Mens Shed members repurposed a donated fridge, the kids from the village school decorated it and our little free library was born.It was so good we ended up getting another fridge and went through the same process puttingĀ this one up in the nearby park/ caravan stop. Both Libraries were registered Little Free Libraries and upon its foundation were registered with street Libraries Australia. You can find the original one at Jerry’s Plains Servo
Here we have the slightly smaller but none the less beautiful and exciting little sister of the one at the Jerrys Plains Servo - pay us both a visit !!!
Located at:Wambo Street, Jerrys Plains NSW, Australia
