We were inspired during Covid isolation by two street libraries near our house. While the BCC libraries weren’t open we borrowed kids books from the street libraries. There were only ever a couple to borrow but our daughter would ask us to read them 3 times a day for weeks at a time! We realised then that less is more, simplicity is best. And we wanted to give our neighbours a similar experience but with just a little more choice. We focus on keeping our library stocked with kids books.
We made our Library out of all scrap, leftover timber from ours and our neighbours home DIY. We didn’t have a proper design, just a Pinterest pic and we’re complete novices. It was an enjoyable iso-project for our whole family.
