The Walworth Widener

6 Walworth Ave, Newport, NSW, Australia

Currently boasting a selection that includes 2 books short listed for the Booker Prize and a copy of The Wind In The Willows (there is nothing — absolutely nothing — half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats..!)

We constructed our library at the time of the initial COVID-19 lock down restrictions. We wanted to build a sense of community and connectedness, and maybe bring some happiness through reading. (This also explains the addition of the hand sanitising station to the construction.)
We hope people will enjoy our books, and are looking forward to seeing what gems turn up on our front fencepost.
The double bunger ‘W’ name is from our street name and the name of the very well resourced and comfortable Harvard University library where my wife studied for a while. It was her favourite place for that time.
