Waratah Street Library

13 San Jose Ave LAWSON 2783

A friendly little library on the corner of San Jose Avenue and Kings Parade in Lawson. Sitting on Gundungurrah and Darug land, Featuring a New Holland Honey Eater, perched on a waratah - the name our house has worn since 1890.

Since I was tiny, I spent time in libraries, in Bellerive, Tasmania, as a kid borrowing every Monica Dickens, Nancy Drew and Famous Five books I could. Over and over. I made my grandparents borrow books from my home library, stamping their card when they visited us.
I have always found refuge in books and libraries. the shared stories made small worlds big and big ideas accessible.
